Unwrapping and material placeholder

My AR Studio can import 3D models in .obj format.

Before importing be sure that:

  1. Meshes are triangulated: this is very important to avoid rendering problems on smooth surfaces
  2. UVs are present
  3. Material names are set, are meaningful and are correctly applied to the model
  4. Model is correctly positioned relative to the origin
  5. (optional) Model scale is correct: 1 unit in 3D scene = 1m in real world

You need to generate the UVs on the model and create and assign material placeholders. The materials applied to the model are used to generate a list and you can apply materials from the MyARStudio library to them.

Scale

If you can, scale your model so that unit scale is 1m in the real world. This proportion is used to correctly size your model in Augmented Reality mode.

You can also scale your model inside the My AR Studio editor.
